The Bio Art & Design Award (BAD Award) is a unique competition for artists and designers who use bio art and bio design to push the boundaries of art and science. The winners of the BAD Award 2019 each receive €25,000 to realise their project in collaboration with a prominent Dutch research institution. Each team has five months to realise their project. MU exhibits the results from these collaborations at the end of 2019.
To be eligible for an award you must have graduated no longer than five years ago from a design or art school/academy at either Masters or Bachelors level. Applicants are encouraged to relate their proposals to recent advances in the life sciences. Please read the information about the open call, research groups and regulations carefully before submitting an application on the BAD Award website. Submit your proposal by Thursday 31 January 2019 at the latest.
